Hello friends and curious – Welcome to my blog!
We are approaching summer so why not to talk about the weather? After all, this is the main topic in London conversations anyway! I would like to add a few more things to this subject, though: SAD and positive thinking.
London is a place where you can enjoy your life due to the amount of entry-free cultural events and attractions it offers. It is also a city known for its grey bad weather and as you may already know the weather is a great contributor towards the population level of depression.
For those who are not yet aware of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), this is a common disorder also known as “seasonal depression”. This mood disorder has caused normal mental health people to experience depressive symptoms, mostly in the winter time.
Unfortunately many of these normal mental health people carry on feeling sad and depressive throughout the rest of the year, year after year. The good news is the variety of alternative treatments available to heal SAD, such as: light therapy, melatonin hormone supplementation, and negative air ionization therapy, amongst others.
What we keep forgetting, and might be the most helpful treatment of all, are the quality of thoughts that we decide to keep in our minds. None of the available curable methods will work if you don’t maintain a positive mind set about life, about yourself.
As mentioned at the beginning of this post, one can experience exciting new adventures in London-town. “SAD” is to see people, sometimes young ones, without mental health issues relying on their own comfort zone using numerous excuses not to change when they have a river of opportunities in a city where everything happens.
Take the chance that summer is approaching and the days will be brighter to bring a more positive perspective to your thoughts patterns. Try now to re-educate your mind by attracting that what makes you feel good about yourself.
- Go for regular walks, London has many beautiful parks with loads of green areas
- Pamper time!!! Treat yourself, love yourself
- Talk to a friend and go out to have some fun
- Book a weekend trip nearby just to escape from your routine
- Exercise, eat healthy and drink plenty of water
- Avoid procrastination as it induces energy-drain
To conclude this post I quote Marcus Aurelius: “A man’s life is what his thoughts make of it.”
Leave here your opinion; it will be interesting to read what you think… See you next time!
Love,
AB
